you need to get a spyware program. seems to me your getting a popup with ads = spyware.

i recommend:

www.iobit.com - advanced windows care
You have some malicious code on your computer. Go get Spybot Search and Destroy, apply the updates to it. and run it. Should kill whatever you have infecting your computer.

Also get Advanced Spyware Removal tool. It gets things Spybot doesn't.
Try http://www.stopannoyingpopup.com

IE not caching images!?!?

Im using IE 6 on Windows and have noticed the browser constantly redownloading the same images over and over. Internet Options - Check New Versions of Page is set to Automatic.

I've tried the following:

a= new Image()

a.src="myimage.gif";

and

%26lt;div style="display:none"%26gt;

%26lt;img src="myimage.gif"%26gt;

%26lt;/div%26gt;

but both techniques have not helped to reduce the 60 seperate HTTP calls the browser is making. FF is fine of course.

Any ideas?

IE not caching images!?!?microsoft publisher

Are the images on your local hard drive? Internet Explorer won't cache them - at least I've never seen it do so.

If the images are on a server is the server set to send headers which tell IE not to cache the images.

Is your "Temporary Internet Files" set to a drive or folder that you have write access to? If pages are cached there as you surf, or you can copy a file there, then it is.

How much space is set aside for your cache, is it enough?

I've heard there is an issue with IE not caching images loaded from css. Is that the case here?

IE 7 Problem with Handeling Session?

I have developed a website in which I have kept the username in session. that not a problem and my site is running fine. Now when i open the website in IE 7 and then open another tab and open the same website . Loging out of one system makes my session expire and the other system also logs out. And healp will be highly appreciated.

Thankyou

IE 7 Problem with Handeling Session?microsoft windows

Yes, this is expected. IE6 does the same thing; if you log in to a site, and then create a new window from that instance of IE6 (Ctrl-N) they share the same socket connection, and so the web server thinks it's the same connection (and in fact it is). Firefox does the same thing, it's not your fault, it's an implementation detail w/ Microsoft and Mozilla. Best to not use tabbed browsing when in your site, there's nothing you can do about it.

IE 7 issues with Windows XP security issues published 02/12/2007?

My computer auto-installed the Windows XP security updates that were published on 02/12/2007. Now Internet Explorer 7 does not work, showing me the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message. I am fully connected to the internet so that is not the problem. Any suggestions on how to fix my problem with IE 7?

Here are the updates that were installed:

I honestly don't know if this will fix it, but take a look at your Content Advisor. If it is on, turn it off.

You can find your Content Advisor settings by going to Tools %26gt;%26gt; Internet Options %26gt;%26gt; Content.

If it is currently enabled, disable it and try browsing again.
check your start up group . under tabs .it may have went to original default .
I have an almost identical problem. I installed the same 8 UPDATES but one is KB 931836 instead of 931936.Also my updates showed 2 additonal ones that you did not mention. KB 928090 and 890830. I did a system restore back to Feb 5th and now all is ok . I am afraid to reinstall them. Did any of the suggestions posted here work ?

Error message on IE; wants to install drivecleaner?

Is this a virus that came with the latest IE updates or what??? The computers at work %26amp; mine at home will pop up with a huge message saying did you know your computer tracks all the porn sites you visit, blah blah blah, would you like to install drivecleaner. It basically shuts down whatever you were in %26amp; even if you hit cancel, it will automatically pop up with the screen to install. Only way to exit is to shut the window %26amp; then go back onto IE.

I do not visit porn sites, I hate that this msge shuts down what I am in, how do I stop it? Pop up blockers %26amp; virus protection are enabled yet it still happens...What's going on, anyone else experience this???

This wouldn't have came with the new IE7. Even if you don't browse porn sites you can pick this up at many other sites without even noticing. DO NOT install it....it is deffinitly malware.

Download Ad-aware, install, update, and run full system scan. Remove everything it finds.
Get a virus scanner and scan your computer.
Drivecleaner is spyware, and it is trying to scare you into buying their product, which is crap. Your antivirus can't get rid of it. Get SpyBot Search %26amp; Destroy to safely remove spyware. Best of all, it鈥檚 free. After installing it, immunize the computer against over 31,000 known pieces of spyware. Then run a full bot check and remove everything it finds using the Fix Selected Problems tab. Keep it updated and run it weekly to keep your computer free of this stuff. Then get Ad-Aware also from download.com and run it the first time doing a Full System Scan. Thereafter, run a Smart Scan daily.

Keep them both updated and use them.

IE is an integral part of windows and cannot be downloaded separately. An internet connect is required to open it.
If you have windows 98 disk it is on there. You can install it there is no need to be on internet. install and do not set up and work off line.
Without the internet the ONLY way you can install anything is on disk.

Should I remove IE 7 and use an older version an older Mozilla to speed up my slow internet?

Version 7 of IE uses way to much memory for my slow computer.

I want to know if it is unsafe to use an older version of IE or Mozilla. All I want is the tab feature, but IE7 is very slow for some reason.

Should I remove IE 7 and use an older version an older Mozilla to speed up my slow internet?windows xp professional

FireFox is SO much faster than IE anyways.

=)

Go with Mozilla.

Should I remove IE 7 and use an older version an older Mozilla to speed up my slow internet?windows xp home internet explorer

Absolutely. :) Using Internet Explorer at all is generally not a good idea anyway, for several reasons.
You cannot increase your sloww internet connection by simply degrading your softwares. You have to use advanced browsers for a quicker web access. The reason for your slower speed may be that since you installed it there is nothing in the cache memory. Use it for sometime and you will feel the difference.

Or try Firefox or Opera before uninstalling IE7.
I use Firefox as my default browser, but I did not remove IE7 (I don't think you can anyway).

Sometimes I find things online that FF can't handle, so I can still use IE7 in those cases.

I don't see a lot of difference in speed- must be something in your settings, or maybe memory is not enough?
If your running Windows Vista, you can't remove IE 7. But if your running XP or older...

Run some spyware scans, make sure nothing is bogging your computer down; also check "tools -%26gt; manage Add-ons". Too many plug-in's such as toolbars can slow your browser down. The reason your IE is slow, is most likely because of the built in "Phishing filter", make sure that's disabled. If you have Norton, they also install this phishing filter thing on your IE, disable those any other plug-ins that you don't use. The only time IE was slow for me was when I had a internet TV toolbar, after I disabled it, IE was smooth.

You don't have to read the rest, but it explains why I think IE is faster.

From my experience, IE is actually a bit faster than Firefox. If you do use Firefox, I think you'll find that it uses more memory than IE running the same content (check by using your Task Manager, accessed from ctrl+alt+del).

IE is a bit faster, particularly because of the pre-fetech feature. I'm not sure if Windows still does this, Windows has in the past used a feature called Pre-fetch to partially start certain programs such as IE and Media Player even before you manually chose to start them, so they'll start faster and etc, so that's why IE is a bit faster.

Now if you only want the tab feature, I believe our very own Yahoo has a toolbar or plug-in for IE 6 that adds the tab feature. So you might want to downgrade back to IE 6, and then get the Yahoo toolbar.
I don't have a problem with IE7.

Your problem may lie elsewhere. Maybe some housecleaning is in order:

1. Set wallpaper and screensavers to blank or none 鈥?they run continuously in the background and use memory.

2. Review your start menu 鈥?remove anything you don鈥檛 need on a daily basis 鈥?load games, etc. on an as-needed basis.

3. From Internet Explorer, sign out 鈥?then click Tools, Internet Options: delete cookies, delete files (offline), and clear history. (You can also set days to store history to 0.)

----- These actions will clear your computer鈥檚 cache. (For a description of cache, go to http://help.yahoo.com/l/ph/yahoo/mail/ac... )

4. Run Disk Cleanup, Scandisk, Defrag at least every two weeks (the more frequently they are run, the less time they take).

5. Periodically, click Start, Programs, Run 鈥?they type ipconfig renew

(that鈥檚 ipconfig space renew).

6. This will show you how to optimize your PC鈥檚 performance.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using...

These things should increase speed and free up memory as much as possible.

If you are talking about Yahoo Games, their servers suck, freezes and boots people randomly.

Otherwise you might need some virus scans or spyware scans.

then type ping yahoo.com

after the process have look at ping statistics. if it showz 0% loss, then problem might b with some settings or explorer itself..

otherwise u have problem with your connection...(low bandwidth etc..)
Seems like you have a bad URL (trying to send you to a page or server that is not there). Can you post it, or tell how you got it?

Could anyone have installed some kind of censorship on your computer or ISP?

Popups from IE while using firefox. Need help?

Sometimes I get these ebay popups that I can't tell whether it's IE or firefox. I have SB S%26amp;D, ad-aware SE personal, and SUPER antispyware, but nothing's working. I do the scans and remove them but still keep getting popups. I uninstalled IE from add and remove programs%26gt;add/remove windows components. I also set my default browser to firefox from set program access and defaults. Even downloaded google and yahoo taskbars for popup blockers.

I tried to delete IE from C: program files but it says that a program or file is using it, and I can't find out which one. I thought I could find out by going to task manager but when I ctrl, alt, delete it just shows up a window listing the users and asking me if i want to log off/disconnect. And theres no tab up top with the quit and minimize signs, etc. And I don't know how to fix that.

Try scanning in safe mode

Download the following (if you don’t have them already) and then UPDATE all your spyware scanners. After they are updated, restart your PC while tapping the “F8” key – this will start your PC in “safe mode”. When your computer is in safe mode scan with all these programs and then trash what ever they find.

It is the entire yahoo.com website I have trouble with. IE displays the font large and overlapping. I don't have a mouse with a roller, I've cleared cache, and I've adjusted my screen resolution. Most other websites are fine, except AOL IM. My IM window also has similar formatting issues. My boyfriend downloaded IE 7 on our laptop (probably because a shiny flashing ad told him too) and it sux. I want to uninstall it and download IE 6 again. Is there any way to do this?

Come back IE 6!?windows media player 10

The right answer is to go into the control panel and add/remove programs then remove Windows internet explorer 7.0 but there are fine details that you need to know.

Reboot the pc first and make sure no other software is running when you remove IE7. Close any extras you have runing in the system tray (by the clock) if you can and then do the uninstall.

Uninstalling IE7 rolls the PC back to IE6 automatically after the reboot. Make sure you reboot as soon as the uninstall is done. Once it reboots then you should be ok.

Do not use the system restore function to remove IE7. I have seen more than 2 dozen XP PC's come in the shop that have the OS trashed from using system restore to remove IE 7. For some reason they don't get along all the time and you end up with a mess. I don't know what people are doing to cause this as they are already trashed when I get them. Since MS has been pushing IE7 through the automatic update function, there have been tons of problems. You can go to windows update and unselect the IE7 option and it won't bother you again. You will get a warning when you visit WU but it's no big deal. You can also de-select it in the auto updates just like you do in WU.

Good luck

G

Come back IE 6!?microsoft net internet explorer

i wish i knew how cause i don't like it either
just do a system restore

before it was installed
Use your System Restore if you have Windows XP.

Click on "start"

Go to "programs"

Choose "accessories"

Go to "system tools"

Choose "system restore"

On "system restore" choose to top box that says "Restore my computer to an earlier time" and click next.

Next screen that comes up choose a date from before Internet Explorer 7 was installed.

Computer will restore IE6 and restart.

You now have Internet Explorer6 back!

*******This may sound complicated but actually only takes a few minutes.*******
I know! I hate some of the features- whenever I open up a window, I have to take 3 more steps to find it.
To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP

Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."

Click "Add or Remove Programs."

Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.

Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove."

Uninstall that, restart your PC and you are on IE6
First download the IE6 setup from the microsoft website.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/...

Once that is complete, go into your contorl panel %26gt; add/remove program. Select IE7 and click remove.

Once IE7 is removed, restart the computer and launch the IE6 setup. IE6 will walk you thru the rest of setup.

I would recommend staying with IE7 and make sure you have the full release. You can get IE7 official release from the MS site. Tabbed browsing makes a world of difference.

Good luck.
do as classic suggests above its easy , system restore is too much hassle
You can uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs, but I suggest you to use Opera or Firefox instead. (no pop ups, no malware software comming through, tabbed browsing, mouse gestures, widgets just to name a few benefits)
I suggest you get used to IE7 because Microsoft will slowly make it compulsory for everyone to upgrade.

If you don't like it, I suggest you try FireFox browser.
before you to that... try firefox. it's the best internet browser, ever. even microsoft admitted that firefox is a whole lot better; microsoft wanted to ask for their advice on internet security issues.

Try by opening the menus: Tools%26gt;Internet options.

Once there, you should get a "Internet options" window. In the

Firstly tell your system admin he is a clot. If he must insist in forcing you to use IE at least make him upgrade to IE7 where you will at least get tabs and little extra sercurity.

Need help on IE..Firefox and Opera at workplace?windows movie maker internet explorer

Download firefox portable from portableapps.com and save it to a jump drive. Then you can run firefox off the jump drive on any computer at work.
Talk to your sysadmin. He's probably been cracking down on security, and therefore disallowing some programs.
Of course, a more feasible idea here is that using Policies, your System Admin has changed settings for everyone's Internet Explorer to use a proxy server. This is common in the corporate world.

Now in Internet Explorer, Go to Tools -%26gt; Internet Options -%26gt; Connections -%26gt; LAN Settings

If you see proxy settings there, simply make a note of them. Both Opera and Firefox allow you to enter in Proxy settings. Once you do this, you will have no issues browsing the web.

I personally recommend not installing IE7 as of yet. Release candidates can always do harm to your computer.

Firefox uses a Windows process inside what we call a "library". That DLL file, which can be needed by Firefox, may have been altered and made unreadable by your installation of IE7.

I would recommend uninstalling IE7 and re-installing Firefox.

I am having the same problem, I did go the the Microsoft website and looked around to see if there was a roll back to IE 6. Unfortunately we may be stuck using it. Can't find Temp IE directory on XP with SP2?

Stuck between IE 6.0 and 7.0?

Hey I have a friend that attempted to upgrade IE 6.0 to IE 7.0 but each time she trys to install it says the Installer failed and that she needs to reboot to get rid of installed files. I think she may have used a beta version originally, though I am not sure.

Now in the help parts of programs( Help --%26gt; help contents, or F1)

the window will show up blank white where the help text should be. The topics and index still show thought. This is also happening in QuickenBooks in their Webbrowser.

Any ideas about how to fix this? She really doesn't care anymore about what version she is using, just wants to be able to see the text.

Stuck between IE 6.0 and 7.0?internet browser

What version of Windows is she using?

First, backup data.

Second, Set a current restore point and reboot.

Third, Look for a restore point from before the IE updates and try to use that.

If it isn't the way she wants it...

Lastly, under Add/Remove Programs can she see a list of IEs that can be removed? If so, remove them from there, and then run a trusted program the cleans the registry. I like CC Cleaner. RegClean was popular for a while also. Run Windows Updates, and make sure ALL of the critical updates are installed, then choose the optional updates that are desired but include all IE updates. If this doesn't fix it I always remind the user that a backup of data, and a format and fresh install always makes a system run more efficiently and reliably.

Does anyone know how to clear IE of saving your searches or web sites? (Not clear history, read deta

I have IE 6 (internet explorer just incase you don't know :D) on a Windows XP. I was wondering if there is a way to clear searches you make. Like when you type something in on google, IE remembers it so when you type something starting with the same letter it shows you that previous search since it's the same letter. Can you do something so IE doesn't keep track of your searches? Also the same thing with websites. You type in a website adress and go to it and then next time you type a website adress starting with the same letter it shows you that previous site. Can you clear that? I know in Firefox you can go to privacy and click an option for it not to remember searches. Can you do this is IE and make it not keep track of searches. Please help!

If it's ok to use Firefox is there anything I need to know?

Firefox or IE 7 ?microsoft access

Since I switched to Linux I use Firefox, Konqueror, Seamonkey and Opera. Something you should understand: Firefox and Seamonkey are both in a real sense descendants of Netscape, which itself was available for Unix and Linux before it was available for Windows. Using them in a Unix-like environment makes perfect sense, but of course I find it sensible to use a Unix-like environment. The security advantage of Netscape-enabled browsers, frankly is precisely that they are not tightly integrated into the operating system: in Linux they operate in user space and in fact I've surfed the net comfortably using versions of both Firefox and Seamonkey which were installed in my /home directory and had no permission to write anywhere but to my personal account.

Frankly, the current version, Firefox 2 is a memory hog. This has something to do with that a lot of it is written in an interpreted language callled XUL. Firefox 3 reportedly runs much better over time (though it takes as much memory initially). It's supposed to be officially released in the next month. You might consider waiting or downloading the beta version.

That said, obviously you can run both IE 7 and Firefox, or should be able to. This is also true of Opera and any other browser availabe from a third party. You shouldn't do any damage to IE. There is no reason, should you try to run another browser, you shouldn't continue to use IE unless like so many of us you decide to give up Microsoft software. ;-)

Firefox or IE 7 ?windows mobile 6 internet explorer

You can have both programs, I prefer Firefox alot more..never had problems with it, but Explorer was a pain in the butt for awhile. You will have to save your favorites into your bookmarks in Firefox.
Firefox is the best in my opinion. It will not wipe out IE. It will ask you to import the bookmarks from IE actually.

Firefox is safer, and more secure. Plugins make it great!

Check it out..read the about, features, etc..then decide if it's right for you.
Avoid Firefox!

When you download Firefox, it comes complete with free membership in a cult religion. You will need to face the West and bow down and pray to your new god, Mozilla, at least 5 times a day.

Of course this "free" browser comes with a steep price. You will be encouraged to become an evangelist for the "cause" (see "answers" above^) by being pressured to join the "Spread Firefox" propaganda campaign:

http://www.spreadfirefox.com/

You will be required to constantly spam newsgroups and forums (Yahoo Answers included). To anyone that posts or asks any question about Internet Explorer, you will be required to reply that the only solution is to dump IE and use Firefox. You will annoy people with shouts of "Firefox has a built-in pop-up blocker...Firefox has a built-in pop-up blocker", despite the fact that Internet Explorer has had a pop-up-blocker ever since XP SP2...almost 4 years ago.

You see, the truth has never been important to Mozilla / Firefox. They have their own dangerous socialist / left-wing agenda.

You must understand that this religion, just like all the others, has its own devil, (Bill Gates), and its own Hell, (Redmond). From this day forward you shall devote your entire life to saving the world from Microsoft.

If, you become one of the chosen disciples of this cult, you will be allowed to help in the coding of new versions of Firefox. Of course you will not be paid for your efforts. Despite the fact that Mozilla Corporation had 2006 revenue of over over $70,000,000.00 USD:

http://www.calacanis.com/2006/03/06/fire...

It prefers to brainwash its followers into toiling for the Mozilla Mother-church for free. Slave labor is always best. Firefox / Mozilla Corporation loves to cry poor-mouth. And the lemmings always follow.

Of course the hierarchy of the church, such as High-Priestess and corporate president, Mitchell Baker, ARE well compensated for their work:

http://mozillalinks.org/wp/2007/01/money...

Funny how that works, isn't it?

I am surprised that Baker hasn't taken to wearing her own version of the Papal Hat:

http://juliuspaintings.co.uk/cgi-bin/pai...

Perhaps one made out of flea-infested fox pelts! It would certainly help to hide that hideous hair-do of hers;

http://www.siliconbeat.com/entries/peopl...

Firefox...the browser of choice of pimply-faced, male adolescent fanboys, who are badly in need of female companionship; and aging hippies with gray ponytails.

HA...;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
I think OPERA is nicest, but I use Opera AND Firefox, so that if I want to use the slightly less secure firefox with all of it's great add-ons, I click my 'drag n drop' Opera button labelled 'inFF'.

I did sometimes use inIE - but find now that IE isn't a patch on either Opera or Firefox. Firefox is best, but Opera is much nicer to use and more responsive.

Get firefox, then click 'tools, add-ons'

Then install the following to start you off with a much better net experience:

Adblock

Bandwidth diagnostics

Customise Google

Download Helper (for flash video)

Mouse Gestures

PDF Download

Session Manager

Speed Dial

Stop Autoplay (stops google video's autoplaying and sapping your bandwidth until you click them)

Stumble Upon - the single BEST ever add on

Unlike the man above me, I think the single reason for leaving IE7 behind is that it cannot offer these add-ons, and it is not free - Microsoft is very bad - and don't give you the choice of avoiding use of IE, however I find that many sites I cannot log into with IE7 are accessible with firefox and opera.

IE7 is too heavy to access my hotmail account most of the time, but FF opens it very easily and quickly. It's TRUTH that guides me, not an irrational need to defend Windows.

Now I use linux, and find Firefox to be identical on this platform, and it's the same on my friend's Macintosh.

What about IE7? search Google for comparisons
Firefox will not affect IE7, and for my money, IE7 is considerably faster than Firefox, and if you browse smartly, any security concerns are limited. Firefox is also a bit of a pain when it comes to constantly having to dowmlaod and update add-ons, though i will say there are LOTS of great add-ons to Firefox that you cant get with IE, so it is def worth having both on your computer.

And what that last guy said is priceless, though i wish i had the time he had available.

3. if you've been hijacked.. click this link, follow the instructions and you will get cleaner then a dirty kid on bath day (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread....
Try a program called Hijackthis, it'll find loads of crap in your machine and delete it and it may even get rid of the program giving you issues. Also, you could try CWShredder.

Both of these programs may sort your problem out.

Try to search for files and folders related to this program and delete them as you go. Do the same in the registry too.

Make a system restore point before you make any major changes.
Run GarbageClean from http://www.SecureMyWindows.com to remove it.

IE taking forever to load, but mozilla works fine?

ive been having this problem for some time now, and whenever i try to open up IE, it takes around 5 min to load, then it works fine, but still a little laggy, and i guess alot of people have been having the same problem too, after an update. anyways when i load mozilla, it works perfect and i have no problems, but i am concerned if maybe i have a virus on my computer or not. I have spy sweeper and trend micro and cleared all my temp internet files cache, including content.ie5, but IE loads slow, so is it some virus or the program is just being screwy??

You are likely running a bot net trojon,

Spybot S%26amp;D or AVG may help

Take it to a IT guy

IE taking forever to load, but mozilla works fine?microsoft internet explorer internet explorer

You could definitely have a virus. Run a virus scan and spyware scan.

Don't use Internet Explorer. It's pretty slow anyways. All other browsers are better. Try Firefox or Opera.
Open int expl go to tools....int options clear cookies and all files go to settings and increase disk space.
maybe a virus is in your IE try running a virus and spyware scans if you removed the virus or spywares, accept my advise, use firefox instead, fire is more secure than any other browsers because the virus or other things you don't want to have in your computer will not install directly when you are just visiting web sites. I hope this help.

Help! System closes all IE windows automatically whenever i closes a pop-up.?

Everytime i surf the net, and whenever i close a pop-up window (be it yahoo address book, or anythng), the system automatically closes all the IE windows (including the main IE page). It's so troublesome to click on IE again and to re-login.

Need help/advice. Could it be virus??? oh dear...

This is most likely due to Malware (computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, and other malicious and unwanted software). You will need to run full anti-virus/spyware scan and clean your registry. I recommend you use these programs (they are free).

1) AVG Free anti-virus

2) Ad-aware spyware remover

Probably a virus, but could be you need more memory(RAM).

On the bar at the bottom of your screen, you will see the web page you are on. left click on that and close the ones you don't want. Or go to the site below, they will probably express it better.

How can you install IE 7.0?

I need to know how to install IE 7.0. It's for managing stuff quickly(tabs) and many more.

Right now I have IE 6.0 installed in my computer. When I tried to install IE 7.0, It says: go to the link below:

http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/9066/un...

So can someone please tell me what to do to solve the problem?

BTW, I have SP1(where in the world can you download SP2?)

How can you install IE 7.0?web browser

Hey...

U need to upgrade your operating system to Windows XP SP2 in order to be able to install Internet Explorer 7.0 (BETA) in ur machine. To do that, U can download Windows XP SP2 from the following link:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

However, if u use a dial up and think u cant afford downloading a 266MB file, you can also order SP2 in a CD from Microsoft. In order to order the CD, just visit the following link:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downl...

Now, to install IE7, just download it from :

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/ie7/...

and then I'm sure u shall be able to install it in ur computer. If you still do happen to come across any more problems, do let me know.

Oh by the way, the above link that u've provided, doesn't work. It just takes me to Imageshack homepage.

And well, if you want a good browser that's intuitive, easy to use and also has your fav feature, that is, tabbed browsing...then I must seggest two free browsers that have been in the market for quite a while and their share has been rising faster than ever before. Personally I hate using IE. Anyways, here are the 2 browsers and the links from where u can download them:

Mozilla FireFox 1.5:

About the Browser - http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Download Link - http://www.mozilla.com/products/download...

Opera 8.5:

About the Browser - http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/

Download Link - http://www.opera.com/download/get.pl?id=...

Trust me, these 2 li'l browsers are gonna save you a lot of hassle. And moreover, always remember, IE7 is a Beta version, as of now. And Beta versions can never be fully trusted. They're expected to crash and act weirdly just about any time even by their manufacturers!! So, do choose wisely!!!

How can you install IE 7.0?windows installer internet explorerHey...thanks a lot for my choosing my answer the best one, mate!! Report It

You download SP2 from the Microsoft update website. and for tab browsing get Firefox. Firefox is more advanced in ad-blocking.pop-ups and can even block flash ads.
Do not get IE7.0

Get FireFox its free and fast

It has tabs and much more

http://24.20.97.172/fox.html
Go to www.google.com. Put in: "how do I install IE 7.0". You will find it is the Beta version that was released on March 20, 2006. This is not released for the public yet, it still has bugs.

You can also ask the serch engine "how do I install service pack 2"-You are probably infected with the sasser worm-which may be causing you not to download IE 7.0, due to not installing service pack 2

By the way there is service pack 3 now. There are new virus's that have come into play since service pack 2.

IE doesn't draw last pixel CSS?

I am having an issue with IE. I have seen a fix for this before but I can't find it now. The elements display just fine in other browser but IE fails to draw the last pixel causeing the overflow:auto to draw a scrollbar. To fix this I add I pixel to the Height property but this leaves a line under the element in other browsers.

Why do IE browser always experiences script errors?

i have a win XP pc, and it works fine, except for the IE, be it version 7 or 6 always saying that it experiences script error, error on page and to continue or not to continue. how could i avoid getting that? also, is there any way to uninstall IE thoroughly and use firefox instead? thanks. . .

Why do IE browser always experiences script errors?windows update

script errors are actually results of "outdated browser" but since you already have ie 6/7 and still experience the same script error...you actually need to update your java program in the pc (www.java.com)...

btw, have you tried uninstalling the ie and reinstalling it using the original windows cd? that also can help...

ie experiences this error more than firefox since there are settings in ie that actually require very updated java program in order for it to open info especially pics...

take care alain...??? :D

Don't UN-install Internet Explorer!!....You will need this!!... long story..You can still download Firefox which would most proberly fix those script errors and use both together without any conflict.

How do I stop IE from popping up as a "pop-up" at least once every 10 minutes?

I use Mozilla Firefox all the time except when I have to use IE for certain programs. I don't want to have to delete, just disable, IE. I run Ccleaner everyday so I tend to think it's not happening because of spyware and the like. IE takes each time about 10 seconds to disappear so it is very irritating. Thanks.

Just because you deleted it, doesn't mean it's uninstalled.

Go to:

Start %26gt; All Programs %26gt; Internet

Should be like the 5th one from the very top or something.

Right click and click "Pin to Start Menu". Or drag it to your desktop.

If it's not there, go to:

Right Click "Pin To Start Menu", or Drag it to your Desktop.

I don;t think its your browser. There either a rule on your wireless router than prevents your laptop from going to the internet or to a specific web site or there must be a security software installed on the laptop.

HELP PLEEASSE. IE/Firefox/wireless problem.?opera browser internet explorer

The only things that come to mind are:

1. Make sure ur firewall on your mom's laptop allows it to connect to ur network. Some firewalls like McAfee need users to allow entrance into a network.

2. Make sure the firewall on your router is allowing other computers to connect. Most routers these days have build in firewalls that may prevent any other computer from connecting. Do a direct connect to ur router (by logging on to the IP Address), and make sure ur firewall settings are ok.

3. WEP!!!! If u have set a password for ur router, then make sure ur typing it correctly into ur laptop. THis is a very common error.

?Since ur getting a "Forbidden" error, then it must be a security issue. Good luck!!!

Firefox and IE the only browsers left?? They Forgot one!!?

There was a report in yahoo that firefox was the only browser left battling Internet Explorer, They forgot to mention the regular mozilla browser, and more importantly OPERA!! All are far superior to Microsofts IE, and never get much use simply because Microsoft doesn't bundle their competitors software with windows (Duh), and the fact that microsofts Active X platform is taking over sites like this (active x = spyware that is legal by the way) and firefox and opera dont readily accept these without extensions or add-ons (Explorer required a lot of these too, but downloads them in the background so you dont notice), which ARE available easily, you just have to click the button a couple of times! Anyhow, the question is, WILL YOU PEOPLE PLEASE GIVE FIREFOX OR OPERA A GOOD CHANCE? Download one or the other, you will love them once you get used to them. Firefox is a little more like IE now that MS has stolen their design, but Opera is a piece of art (Very Beautiful) Try them, please!

I love Opera too : D but I usually use FF seen as it flicks up on my screen in a second whereas Opera takes a little time.
I've been using Firefox for about 7mos now. Too many freeze ups with IE, so I gave Firefox a shot. Very happy with its performance.
i like firefox the best... simple but awesome UI. tried Opera but didn't like it very much.
these days even safari is turning out better than IE.. to be considered i fell.. and its cross platform too!
i love firefox!
I agree totally. I use a Mac so I use Camino as my browser, but on a PC, I would never use IE. It is a useless and dangerous tool. I trust Mozilla way more than IE. I also like Opera, but it's interface takes some getting used to. It is a matter of preference, and both Firefox and Opera are far superior to IE6 and even IE7. Opera is the most secure, you will need to get used to it though, it is different.
There are more web browsers out there than you can shake a stick at, most discussions involve the ones most commonly used. It's nice to see a plug for Opera, it is a good web browser also.

How do I get IE 6.0.2900 to open a window in the same page?

For example, if I do a search in Yahoo and click on one of the resulting links, it ALWAYS opens the link in a new window. I want IE to use the existing window.

Also, this is on a work computer, so I am stuck using IE 6.0.2900 xxxxx (ie. whatever the version is that came on the machine, that is what I must use).

I think you're wanting to link to open in your current window, instead of a new tab and/or window. To do this, make sure that this option is activated. IF NOT ~ try rt-clicking the link and selecting "open." Most SHOULD open in the current window, but remember, a lot of sites have coded for their pages to open in a new window so that you don't lose the original site you were on.

Hope it helps in some way.

Delete button no longer works in IE E-Mail, works fine with Mozilla?

I seldom use IE for Yahoo E-Mail, I use Mozilla. However yesterday I upgraded IE to version 7.0. Since then when signing onto Yahoo E-Mail this web address would be in the tool bar: https://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?.int... with a notice saying:

'If you are seeing this page, your browser settings prevent you from automatically redirecting to a new URL.

Please click here to continue.'

This never occurs with Mozilla. After pressing 'click here' in IE the mail page comes up, but the delete button for E-Mail; the 'check all' button for bulk mail; and the submit button for submitting a question no longer responded. I uninstalled and deleted IE 7.0, but problem persists in the previous version of IE, which did not have this problem before. These buttons work fine with Mozilla. Why doesn't Firefox/IE connect to the internet?

Help me please! I have been using Netscape to connect to the internet, which I don't really like. I have internet connection and can ping any website, but for whatever reason Firefox/IE won't connect. It says "unable to connect to the internet" everytime I try for some reason. This happened a few weeks back first with IE, than couple days later with Firefox. However, Netscape has never had a problem so far. Please help me fix this problem. I hate using Netscape, since IE is my default browser. Thank you.

Why doesn't Firefox/IE connect to the internet?ie tab

what can you ping? If you can ping by both name (www.yahoo.com) and ip (69.147.114.210), then it is not a firewall. the problem would be within the browser. If you can only ping by name it is most likely the anti-virus firewall, spyware, 3rd party browser extensions, wrong proxies. If you can only ping by ip, the flush your dns. ( goto the command prompt and type ipconfig /flushdns. the most common cause is the firewall though, especially if it's norton or mcaffe... if all fails, you may need to reset tcp/ip through the command prompt. it would depend on the version of windows...i assume you have windows. (on a mac, there is one fix for all not moving data issues, just create a new network location.if it's XP there is a regedit to reinstall tcp/ip by deleting winsock1 and 2. you can search for the xp winsock2 regedit for proper instructions, MAKE SURE you export the registry as a text file before deleting anything within the registry, however, i doubt you'll have to go that far

OK, there are several things you need to do:

1) turn off System Restore. You do this by going to Accessories..System Tools..System Restore. Turn this off--it's most often not needed and is a place where viruses hide.

2) go to www.grisoft.com and download their AVG anti-virus package. After installation, make sure you have it updated with the most current definitions.

3) I assume you're running Windows XP. Turn off your computer and re-start it in safe mode (which you do by repeatedly pressing either F5 or F8 just after you turn the power back on--you'll get a menu asking you how you want to start up). Once you've booted into safe mode, run the AVG software. This is a *very* aggressive software package and can remove just about anything.

4) Reboot your computer normally. If you're still having problems, continue with the following:

5) Go to

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/progr...

and download HiJackThis. Run the program, which will create a log file. Go to

http://forums.spywareinfo.com/

and post your HiJackThis log. You will get an extremely rapid, very precise answer as to whether or not you still have any infections and, if so, exactly what to do.

6) After everything is all cleaned up I recommend installing SpyBot (it's free; just make sure to keep it updated):

http://www.safer-networking.org/

and SpywareTerminator (also free):

http://www.spywareterminator.com/

Good luck!
I guess there is no single fully loaded security program that will take care of all current security problems all by itself.

You may need a combination of them or choose the best one to secure your computer.

Install the free AVG anti virus from www.grisoft.com

Or, the free Avira Antivir PE Classic from www.free-av.com

Or, Free antivirus - avast! 4 Home Edition

Or, Free Anti-Virus Protection - Active Virus Shield

Or, do a free online virus scan and clean on www.antivirus.com

The above will take care of your virus problems. Additionally, you may want to install the latest Yahoo toolbar with anti spy button that clean spy which steals your information. Get it from http://downloads.yahoo.com/
Perform System Restore, if it happened a week ago or earlier

Click on Start

Click on All Programs

Click on Accessories

Click on System Tools

Click on System Restore

Restore the computer to an earlier date.

Anyone else have trouble with new IE 7?

I just installed my new Dell XPS 410 computer and it worked fine until I downloaded IE 7 and restarted it. I spent over 5 hours trying to fix the problem. It seems when I click on a link, the program stops working (IE 7) and I have to "end task" - needless to say I'm very frustrated and have had to revert back to the old IE, much to my chagrin. I loved the IE 7 which worked fine on my Dell Dimension 4300 (although that computer is very slow, especially compared to my XPS 410). Anyone else have this problem and if so, how do I fix it? Thanks for your serious answers!

Anyone else have trouble with new IE 7?internet explorer download

The reason why IT organizations are NOT upgrading to IE7 is not because it is bad software. It is because its the first version of software. No IT company will ever upgrade any software to its first revision of the upgrade, that's just asking for trouble.

Now, you are free to use FireFox, but there is another problem with your computer that it is acting the way it is with IE7. Leaving it like that and just using another browser will lead to further problems.

First, did you download IE7 from Microsoft directly? If no, please do.

Second, have you updated your Windows installation by going to Windows Update? (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)

Third, did you have any toolbars installed prior to installing IE7? If yes, please uninstall them. Then try installing IE7 again.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Uninstall IE7 and Install FireFox 2.0. Problem Solved.
Internet Explorer is beyond lame.

Get a real browser. Get Firefox. Get it here.

http://www.firefox.com
First, I would attempt to utilize a System Restore point prior to installing IE7. Although it has been released you'll want to go read the release notes from Microsoft to verify that you have everything up to date for the IE7 installlation. I do know that many IT organizations are currently not supporting IE7 until the appropriate updates are clarified and released.
Forget IE7.... Internet Explorer blew it's last straw for me this time last week too.

Brand spanking new computer (built myself), fresh install of Windows XP SP2 with Internet Explorer6 last Thursday afternoon.

Come Friday night, IE6 was rendered as much use as a chocolate fireguard by the fact the pop-up blocker decided it wouldn't let me download all the new software I needed to get back up to speed again after my old PC had completely fried it's self....... wouldn't let me open my webmail either........... so in the end I installed Mozilla Firefox instead, since I had a copy downloaded earlier in the week on my USB flashdrive having downloaded it from my Grandma's computer to try get my crappy old laptop I was having to make do with until my new PC was completed actually capable of loading websites (that thing was so old it was running IE4, and wouldn't load newer sites like this place, or MySpace, etc).

Trust me......... just get Firefox, it's ALOT easier.... doesn't matter if you're using a shagged-out Laptop with a 133MHz Pentium1 Processor %26amp; 80MB of RAM (upgraded from 16MB), or a relatively fast PC like my new 3.33GHz Intel Celeron D desktop, with 1GB of RAM.... FIREFOX works loads faster, and if it does screw-up then when you try to re-open it, it gives you the opportunity to resume from the webpage you were last looking at when it crashed.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
i have the same problem! i use yahoo messenger, email, tool bar and originally downloaded IE7 along w/ the above. My brand new DELL XPS 410 comes equiped w/ trend/micro/pc-cillian and all sorts of software too. The " darn thang" freeezes, stops and states "program not responding" and then ya gotta 'end task' and start a new??!! I did the system restore w/ dell, redownloaded IE6 and yahoo stuff...but still have "not responding" $#%!!!, when switching to my space, yahoo pics, email ect....does anyone "really" agree w/ the IE guy who says 'uninstall all and the DL IE7' or if Firefox is so great HOW %26amp; WHAT DO I UNINSTALL to start fresh and use this 'bloody" thing for which I need? and i still wann keep yahoo mail, MSN, hotmail? Is this possible?
Well, you really need to make sure you go back to a restore point before you grabbed IE7.

IE7 is a typical Microsoft product, released before testing, and you are one of the testers!!!

Just say NO!!!

Then, http://getfirefox.com
Contrarily to what some ppl might say, don't uninstall IE7, unless u overwrite it with an IE6 installation. Uninstalling IE completely may cause problems for your Windows operating system. I would probably suggest u revert to IE6 as the first step.

Then try using an alternate browser. Don't listen to those that say "switch to firefox, it's the best." Well that's a pretty subjective comment, it's like saying "eat chocolate ice cream, it's the best." Although Firefox is also my personal favorite, only YOU can tell what browser u like best, so here's a list of some of the more popular alternatives to IE on the Windows platform:

- Mozilla Firefox

- Opera

- Netscape

- Mozilla (now called SeaMonkey)

There are others less popular, but these are the ones I suggest u try out if u want to get away from IE. And remember, in the software world, u shouldn't let people force software on you (like Microsoft does), you should be using what you like.

P.S. I use IE7 as my 3rd browser of choice (Firefox being the first and Opera being the second) and so far, I haven't had too much problem with it. Feature-wise I think it's better than IE6, and they are catching up with the other browsers, but I still feel it's lagging behind somewhat on web standards (you'll notice if u do web development). Bug-wise, well I think u've experienced it on ur own.

Have fun experimenting with new things
